Watch the video about the Habitat and the Acevedo family!

With the grinding roar of the rotating cement mixer truck nearby, representatives of several churches gathered with the Acevedo family on April 17th for a special home blessing that included embedding a bible enscripted with well wishes in the footer of the home being built in Largo. The home is part of our "Faith Build" sponsored collectively by eight area churches, who as "Steeple, Pillar and Stonemason Sponsors" have contributed to the funding for the home. Several additional churches will participate as "Church Build Partners" and will provide volunteers to help build the home over the next eight to ten weeks.

Special thanks to Rev. Laura Ice of Anona United Methodist Church for delivering a very special blessing on the home and the bible before Julio Acevedo placed it in the footer before the concrete was poured.

About our Faith Builds. Each year, faith-based communities from around the county come together to build not just a house, but a home for a local family. From putting up the trusses to laying the last piece of sod, this Habitat home is built on faith. In addition to volunteering, many of the faith-based communities sponsor the home as well. To become a part of this exciting build, please email Angie for more information.

A big thank you to each of our church participants and the members of their congregations who were part of our 2015 Faith Build!
